The before picture.
Josh with his Trek family.
Rachel with her family. I was so worried about sending Rachel, due to her diabetes. The Bishop allowed her to go with a Ma and Pa who both were nurses from our ward. I worried over nothing, she did GREAT! She took such good care of herself, and only went low once. She is so responsible and I am so proud of her!!!
Time to rise and shine, Rachel
After hearing a true story about Saints who wore out their shoes crossing the plains, and had to walk bare-foot, the Youth were encouraged to walk a mile bare-footed, also. Most of them chose to do it, even facing huge goat-head stickers, and prickly prairie grass.
They faced all sort of weather in four days. They had heat, strong winds, rain, and hail.
Rachel with her "sisters" getting ready to do the women pull portion.
One of Josh's favorite moments was the leg wrestling. He got flipped over and over and over some more--and loved it!!!
One night they stopped and had a devotional about the early Saints sacrificing so much to build temples.
The after pictures. Poor Rachel got so sun/wind burned that her eye swelled up. I didn't even know that could happen. They came home so dirty, so exhausted, and so happy!!!
