Larry goes up to Sun Valley for work about every three months. He had a managers meeting there this week, and the four of us went up to spend Sat. with him and show Jessi how beautiful it is. Our dear friends, the Browns gave us a gift card that we were able to use to go horseback riding. This is something we have wanted to do for about 15 or more years, but have never been able to afford to take our large family. We were thrilled to be able to finally do it, and even an overcast, rainy day didn't damper our excitement, as you can see by our ear to ear smiles.
Jessi got lucky enough to get the spunkiest horse, Frankie, which made her laugh out loud when he would try to go off the trail --which made me laugh too.
Rachel got a very mild horse, Mike, and she fell in love with him! She was the most excited of all of us and asked if we could come up here again in July and ride.
Larry got a lazier horse, Buddy. This picture is a great shot of how it was---Buddy lagged behind, and our cowboy leader, Paul, would say to Larry, "Give Buddy a little kick to have him keep up." We think Buddy had a hard time keeping up because his tummy was upset. He had so much gas! I didn't realize that horses passed gas too. I guess I hadn't ever thought about it. Then we had Jessi's spunky horse constantly nudging Buddy with his head to hurry up. One would think that Frankie would hang back just a little more, to avoid the gas....

This is shot of us at the top of our ride, overlooking the village of Ketchum. It was a little windy and spitting rain, but we were still having a lot of fun!

Almost finished with our ride. This river was flowing fast from the spring run-off. It was so pretty and we loved the sound of it flowing. After an hour in a saddle, I was ready to be done!
See I told you---smiles from ear to ear!
Jessi was just glad to get back in one piece, as she had the higher spirited one.
It's interesting, Buddy walked a little faster when we were close to the end of our ride. Was he glad to have Larry off his back??
